BALTIMORE TOWNSHIP, Mich (WOOD) - A 41-year-old man was shot and killed by a Barry County Sheriff's deputy Saturday night.

Lt. Chuck Christensen with Michigan State Police told 24 Hour News 8 it all started with a domestic dispute at a residence in the in the 9800 block of Banfield Road in Baltimore Township, not far from Dowling, around 7 p.m. Neighbors said the suspect Ralph Elliot once lived in that residence with his mother and that it is not far from his home.

BALTIMORE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) - Michigan State Police are investigating the deputy-involved shooting that left one man dead.

Ralph Elliott, 41, was shot and killed around 7 p.m. Saturday at a Baltimore Township residence. Authorities said he had been involved in a domestic dispute with his wife.

UPDATE, 8:08 p.m. -- Police have identified the man killed by police as Ralph Elliott, 41.

DOWLING, MI -- A Barry County man fatally shot by police late Saturday night didn't fire shots at officers, said the Michigan State Police lieutenant leading the investigation.

Detective First Lt. Chuck Christensen said the man fired two shots before sheriff's deputies arrived on scene of a domestic violence complaint between the man and his wife
